Online focus group with 6 teachers working in VET
The main goal of the focus group was to identify the existing skills of teachers in inclusive education and the desired state of inclusivity in learning through an intersectional approach.
One of the key findings was that the teachers need knowledge and training on how to provide a holistic inclusivity in learning, and they are often completely unaware of how to foster an inclusive environment that respects the identity and personality of each individual.
Last but not least, they unanimously recognized that the first step towards an inclusive learning environment is to have an open mind and open heart to understand students’ needs.
